What is Couple Journey?

Everything you add — photos, plans, letters — lives in one shared journey that belongs to both of you. It's built to feel like a scrapbook, not a spreadsheet: warm, simple, and just for the two of you.

How do I create our Couple Journey?

After you sign up, choose "Create New Journey." Give your journey a name (something like "David ❤️ Nopi"), optionally add the date your relationship began, and tell us your display name. That's it — your journey is ready, and you can invite your partner whenever you're ready.

How does my partner join?

Accepted Answer

Once your journey exists, go to Settings and generate an invite code — an 8-character code you can copy and send however you like (text, chat, however you two talk). Your partner signs up for their own account, chooses "Join Existing Journey," and enters the code. As soon as they join, they see the same memories, plans, and letters you do — it becomes truly shared.

Do both partners need separate accounts?

Yes — you and your partner each sign in with your own email and password. That way you each have your own display name and login, while everything you create together lives in one shared journey.

What happens if my partner signs up normally instead of using my invite?

Accepted Answer

If your partner creates a brand-new journey instead of joining yours, they'll end up with a separate, empty journey of their own. To join you instead, they should choose "Join Existing Journey" during sign-up (or from the onboarding screen) and enter the invite code from your Settings page.

Can I use Couple Journey before my partner joins?

Absolutely. Your journey is yours from the moment you create it — start adding memories, planning dates, or writing a love letter right away. Your partner can join at any time, and everything you've already added will be waiting for them.

Do I need to confirm my email address?

Accepted Answer

Yes. After you sign up, we send a confirmation link to your email — click it to activate your account. If you don't see it within a few minutes, check your spam folder.

What is a memory?

A memory is a moment you want to keep — a date, a trip, a small everyday thing worth remembering. Each one has a title, a date, and a category, and you can add photos or videos, a location, tags, and a short description. You can also mark a memory as a milestone or a favorite.

What kind of photos and videos can I upload?

You can upload JPEG, PNG, or WebP photos up to 20 MB each, and MP4, MOV, or WebM videos up to 100 MB each. If a file is too large or the wrong type, we'll let you know right away so you can try a different one.

Are there limits on how many memories I can add?

On the Free plan, your journey can hold up to 30 memories, 100 photos, and 5 videos. Couple Plus raises that to Unlimited memories, 5,000 photos, and 100 videos, and Couple Lifetime goes even further. See the Subscription & Pricing section for the full picture — you can always upgrade later without losing anything you've already added.

Can I edit or delete a memory?

Yes. Open any memory to change its title, date, description, tags, or photos, or to remove it entirely. Deleting a memory also removes its photos and videos, so it's worth double-checking before you confirm.

Can my partner see the memories I add?

Yes — every memory you add is part of your shared journey, so your partner sees it too (and can edit or add to it themselves). Couple Journey doesn't have a way to keep a memory private from your partner; it's built around sharing everything in your journey together.

What is the Gallery?

The Gallery pulls every photo and video from all your memories into one scrollable view, so you don't have to open each memory individually. You can filter to see just photos or just videos, and tap anything to view it full-screen.

What happens when I reach my storage limit?

The Free plan doesn't have a separate storage cap — you're limited by the photo and video counts above instead. Couple Plus includes 20 GB of storage and Couple Lifetime includes 50 GB. If you reach a limit, your existing memories stay exactly as they are and remain fully viewable — you just won't be able to add new photos, videos, or memories until you upgrade or free up space.

What are Plans?

A Plan is something you're looking forward to — a date, a trip, an evening out. Give it a date range and a cover photo, attach Date Ideas you want to try, and once it happens, link the memories you made to it. Plans also show up on your Calendar so you can see what's coming up.

What are Date Ideas?

Date Ideas is your shared list of things you'd like to do together — restaurants to try, places to visit, activities you've heard about. Add ideas with a category and a photo, then pull them into a Plan whenever you're ready to actually schedule one.

What shows up on my Calendar?

Your Calendar shows every Plan you've scheduled, laid out across the month, plus automatic milestone markers for your relationship — like your 100th day together or a yearly anniversary — and your wedding anniversary if you've added a wedding date in Settings.

Can I link a memory to a plan?

Yes — when you create or edit a memory, you can attach it to one of your Plans. It's a nice way to close the loop: you plan a date, then capture how it actually went as a memory linked right back to it.

Once a month, Couple Journey can write a warm, personal recap of everything you two got up to — using your memories, plans, and love letters from that month. It reads like a short letter about your relationship, with a title, a few highlights, and a look at what made that month feel like you two.

When can I generate a recap?

You can generate a recap for any month — past or current — as soon as you have some memories to work with. There's no need to wait until the month ends; head to Recaps, pick a month, and generate it whenever you like.

What's included in a recap?

Each recap includes a written story about your month, a few highlights, a "memory of the month," simple stats (like how many memories and photos you added), and a short read on your relationship's personality that month. It's all generated from what you actually added, so no two recaps read the same.

Can I regenerate a recap?

Yes. If you'd like a fresh take, open the recap and choose "Regenerate Web Recap" — it rewrites the title, story, highlights, and personality using the same month's memories. Your photos and any Story Export you've already made are left untouched.

How many recaps can I generate?

On the Free plan, you can generate up to 3 recaps per calendar month (each generation or regeneration counts). Couple Plus and Couple Lifetime include unlimited recaps, so you can regenerate as often as you like.

Story Export turns a recap into 6 shareable slides — Cover, Stats, Memory of the Month, Highlights, Summary, and Ending — sized for Instagram Stories. It's a separate, optional step from the Web Recap: generate it whenever you'd like something to actually share.

How do I download my Story Export?

Open a recap's Story Export tab, tap "View Story," and use the arrows (or swipe) to move between slides. From there you can download the slide you're viewing, or download all 6 at once — each one saves as a high-resolution image ready to post.

What's the difference between the Web Recap and Story Export?

The Web Recap is the full scrollable page you read inside Couple Journey. Story Export is a separate set of 6 downloadable image slides built from that same recap, made for sharing outside the app. Regenerating one never changes the other, so you can update your recap text without redoing your saved story slides.

What is an invite code?

An invite code is an 8-character code tied to your journey. Generate one from Settings and share it with your partner — when they enter it, they're added to your journey instantly. You can generate a new one at any time.

Can I revoke an invite code?

Yes — in Settings, under Invite Partner, choose "Revoke invite link." Once revoked, that code no longer works, and you can generate a new one whenever you need to.

What is the Couple Name?

Everything inside your journey — memories, plans, date ideas, calendar, love letters, recaps, and your subscription — is shared between you and your partner. The only things that stay personal to each of you are your own login and your own display name.

Does my subscription cover both of us?

Yes — your subscription belongs to your journey, not to either person individually. Whoever upgrades, both of you get the benefits, and if your partner joins later, they automatically inherit whatever plan your journey already has.

Can I switch between monthly and yearly billing?

Yes. From Settings, Plus subscribers can switch from Monthly to Yearly (or back) at any time — the switch works like any other purchase, and any time you've already paid for is preserved rather than lost.

Can I upgrade from Plus to Lifetime?

Yes — from Settings, choose "Upgrade to Lifetime" at any time. Once it's active, you won't be billed again for Couple Journey.

What happens right after I upgrade?

You'll be taken to a secure checkout page to complete payment. Once it goes through, Couple Journey confirms it automatically and your Settings page updates to show your new plan — this usually takes just a few seconds. Your new limits apply immediately, and nothing you've already added is affected.

Will I be charged automatically when my plan renews?

No — Couple Journey doesn't charge you automatically. When your Plus subscription is about to run out, you'll simply purchase another month or year the same way you upgraded the first time, whenever you're ready. There are no surprise charges.

Is Couple Journey an app I download from a store?

Couple Journey lives on the web, so you can use it straight from your browser on any phone, tablet, or computer — no app store needed. You can also add it to your home screen so it opens and feels just like a regular app.

How do I install Couple Journey on my phone or computer?

On Android and desktop Chrome, you'll usually see an install prompt — just tap or click "Install." On iPhone or iPad, open Couple Journey in Safari, tap the Share icon, then "Add to Home Screen." You can also start this from Settings under App Installation at any time.

Can I use Couple Journey on more than one device?

Yes — sign in with the same account on your phone, tablet, or computer, and you'll see the exact same journey everywhere, kept in sync automatically. Installing it on one device doesn't stop you from also using it in a browser on another.

What happens if I uninstall the app?

Nothing is lost. Installing Couple Journey to your home screen is just a shortcut to the same website — your memories, plans, and everything else are stored safely in your account, not on your device. Uninstall it any time and simply sign back in through a browser to pick up right where you left off.

Who can see our Couple Journey?

Only you and your partner — the two people who are part of your journey. Your plans are private: no ads, and we don't sell your data.

How do I change my password?

From the login page, choose "Forgot your password?" and enter your email — we'll send you a link to set a new one. There's no need to remember your old password to do this.

My partner can't join with the invite code — what should I check?

Accepted Answer

First, make sure the code was typed exactly as shown (it's not case-sensitive, but every character matters) and hasn't been revoked. If you've generated a new code since sharing the old one, send the current code instead. Also double-check your partner chose "Join Existing Journey" rather than "Create New Journey" when they signed up.

Why did my photo or video upload fail?

The most common causes are a file that's too large (over 20 MB for photos, over 100 MB for videos) or an unsupported format — we accept JPEG, PNG, and WebP photos, and MP4, MOV, and WebM videos. It can also happen if you've reached your plan's memory or storage limit. Check the error message shown at the time — it'll tell you exactly which of these it was.

I can't add new memories or photos — what does that mean?

Accepted Answer

This means your journey has reached one of your plan's limits (memories, photos, videos, or storage). Everything you've already added is completely safe and stays visible — you just can't add more until you upgrade your plan or free up space by removing something.

Story Export download isn't working — what should I try?

Accepted Answer

If a slide download doesn't start, try again — this is usually a temporary hiccup while the slide image is being prepared. If "Download All" only saves some slides, use "Download This Slide" one at a time instead. Make sure your browser isn't blocking pop-ups or automatic downloads for Couple Journey.

I paid but my plan still shows as before — what's happening?

This is usually just a short delay while your payment is confirmed — give it a moment and refresh your Settings page. If it still hasn't updated after a few minutes, don't worry and don't pay again: your payment is safe, and reaching out to us will let us activate your plan without any extra charge.

I don't see an option to install the app — why?

Accepted Answer

Install prompts depend on your browser. On iPhone or iPad, you'll need Safari (not Chrome) and the manual "Add to Home Screen" steps from the Share menu. On Android or desktop, make sure you're using Chrome — some other browsers don't support installing web apps at all. If Couple Journey is already installed on your device, the prompt won't appear again.
