• Profile information — the nickname or display name you choose.
• Couple data — couple name, tagline, anniversary date, and other relationship details you add.
• Memories — photos, videos, captions, locations, dates, and tags you upload.
• Love notes — private messages you write and share with your partner.
• Plans & date ideas — travel plans, bucket list items, and date ideas you save.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data — how you interact with the Service, including pages visited and features used.
• Device information — browser type, operating system, and device identifiers, collected through standard server logs.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Enable collaboration between you and your partner within a shared couple account.
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password resets).
• Generate AI-powered features including monthly recaps and story highlights.
• Respond to your questions or support requests.
• Ensure the security and integrity of the Service.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth. Your password is hashed and never stored in plain text. We use email and password authentication with email confirmation for new accounts. Password reset links are delivered via email and expire after one hour.

Photos and videos you upload are stored securely in Supabase Storage. Access is restricted to you and your partner within the same couple account. We do not use your photos or videos to train AI models, and we do not share them with third parties except as necessary to operate the Service (for example, cloud storage infrastructure).

Couple Journey uses artificial intelligence to provide features such as monthly recaps, story highlights, and place enrichment. When you use these features, relevant text data — such as memory titles, dates, and descriptions — may be processed by third-party AI providers, including Anthropic (Claude). Photos and videos are not sent to AI providers.

AI-generated content is provided for your enjoyment and convenience. It may not always be accurate or complete. We are not responsible for the accuracy of AI-generated content.

We use essential cookies and browser local storage to maintain your authentication session and remember your preferences. These are strictly necessary for the Service to function and cannot be disabled.

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or retargeting technologies.

We may use anonymised, aggregate analytics to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. This data does not identify individual users. We do not share individual usage data with third-party advertising networks.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and secure cloud infrastructure provided by Supabase. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the Service. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your personal information within a reasonable time, subject to any legal obligations that require us to retain it.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights under applicable data protection laws:

• Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Deletion — request deletion of your personal information.
• Data portability — request transfer of your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — object to certain types of processing of your information.

The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you — for example, by sending an email or displaying a notice in the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
